and this is only my second day off in...4 weeks, and I am a dork, all of you can make fun of me now.

Guess who gets to declare??  ME!!  Yes, yours truly got a big fat YES from both the Music and the Theater departments in regards to not only me declaring my major, but also my thesis.  I AM OFFICIALLY GOING TO BE THE FOURTH EVER MUSIC-THEATER MAJOR EVER TO GRACE REED'S HALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!  Out of almost 100 years, I will only be student number four.  Yes ladies and gentlemen, as soon as I fill out the form that I went to pick up from the registrar so that I can return it before David, Craig, and Kathleen change their minds and turn it in, I will be a Junior, with an official major and a musical in my future.  My musical.  In which I will perform and wow audiences campus-wide.  Craig even said he was impressed by how prepared I was for the meeting and the next two years in general.  What I didn't tell him is "Of course I'm prepared.  I was afraid if I wasn't that you guys would say 'no!'"  But yeah, they are impressed by my forethought, preparation, and general awareness of how fucking hard it is to do anything artistic at Reed.  Also, I got David and Kathleen talking about other cool shit.  I WIN!  I'm off to go fill out forms, meet with Mark, and do a lot of dancing for joy.  Anyone want to get together after 9pm and celebrate with me??  Just something small, but I'm going to need to celebrate in some way.  Love and amazing academic joy,

IT'S SNOWING IN PORTLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!  Real honest to goodness, stick to the ground snow.  I should know, I was outside when it started, outside a second time when it got worse, and was outside yet again and walking home when it started to stick.  Carl and I had great fun walking in it and we took a few pictures to prove that it is, in fact, snowing.  I am SO excited, maybe it will snow enough that there will be no class tomorrow.  That would rock!  Ok, I'm off to at least pretend I am going to bed.  Night!

Joni, thank you for introducing me to Jonathon Coulton. He is keeping Peter and me amused until such time as we return to work. I should be doing homework, but we need chips to go with the humus that I have in Peter's fridge.  So now, as yet another study break, Peter and I are going to the Sev.  I am never going to sleep tonight.  Oh well.  Later!

I can't find my pants.  This is mildly disconcerting as I am running slightly late and I need to get to class.  This settles it, I really have to unpack tonight.  Actually, let me rephrase that.  The pants I want to wear are nowhere to be found.  Meh, I gotta go finished getting dressed.  Bye all!

I just found all the pictures I am going to put on my wall that I've been saving all summer and my bag full 'o memories.  Wow, I really miss everyone all of a sudden.  And the fact that the Beach Boys just came up on shuffle doesn't help.  Good thing I'm going back tomorrow.  Now if only they could move Georgia right next to Portland, I'd be all set.  Ok, no more misty eyes for me, must finish packing.  Wish me luck all, I might need it, but right now it's looking pretty good.  Right then, bye!

My day was pretty amazing.  Woke up, spent the morning watching TV and folding laundry, went to work.  Work kind of sucked, but wasn't too bad.  Came home, dinner was really good, had just about the silliest talk with the girlfriend, ever.  That was a lot of fun.  Also, I cheered her up considerably, which would have made me happy in any case.  My sister came home from camp pregnant with faternal twins.  I'm talking about the girl who got married at camp 2 or 3 years ago to one of her friends.  My little sister is a nut, I missed her.  Mikella says it would be funnier if I came home from Georgia and told my mom I was pregnant with twins.  I don't think my mom would had nearly the same reaction she did with Marika.  I think it would be more along the lines of a glare...or worse.  My mom's sense of humor only stretches so far.    Also, I have a brother again.  I missed him too.

Seeing as today (or rather technically yesterday) is/was August 12th, it is time for the official birthday countdown to start.  Usually I sort of start a little earlier but this year has been weird.  So yeah, 14 days to go until I get one year older.  Oh god, that means school starts in 15 days...and I haven't planed a party or anything...  I must get on that if I am to celebrate my birthday in style.  Of course I really want a party the one year I have no idea where to have it.  Oh well, I'll figure something out and invite you all.  Must go to bed, night everyone!

I just called financial aid.  They have not finished my revisions yet.  It's August 1st, I don't have a definite place to live, I don't have any financial aid, and I'm freaking out.  Oh, and my parents will be home in 5 minutes.  I'm going to go get dressed and run around the house tidying to make myself feel better.  Not good, not good, definitely not good....

I GOT AN A IN CHEM, I GOT AN A IN CHEM, I GOT AN A IN CHEM OH MY GOD OHMYGOD OHMYGOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (breath) Apparently all those hours of studying paid off and I got an A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm going to go continue bouncing and squealing for at least a few minutes yet, or until my knee hurts too much to handle it any more, whichever comes first.  Bye!

So tired.  I've finally crashed for the last time today.  I'm going to bed very shortly.  It's cold (especially for summer) tonight, but I drove home very, very carefully with the windows open to make sure I stayed alert.  Not that I was really dangerous, if I had been I wouldn't have driven home, but I was glad of it when some ass hole pulled behind me half way home and tailgated me with his brights on for over a mile.  I can understand accidentally getting too close for a bit, and even forgetting your brights on for a minute or two, but what he did was not just rude, it was dangerous.  I hate people who do that.

I passed the chem final.  I don't know how I did overall, and I'm pretty sure I didn't get an A, but all that studying, begging the cosmos, and preparation paid off I think.  I should know tomorrow.  Good thing I'm so tired, or I'd be worried.

I have a lot more to say, and I was going to say it better, but honestly, I'm about to fall asleep at the keyboard.  I'll post tomorrow..if I'm awake.  Now I'm off to bed.  Night all, sweet dreams!
