Guess who gets to declare?? ME!! Yes, yours truly got a big fat YES from both the Music and the Theater departments in regards to not only me declaring my major, but also my thesis. I AM OFFICIALLY GOING TO BE THE FOURTH EVER MUSIC-THEATER MAJOR EVER TO GRACE REED'S HALLS!!!!!!!!!!!! Out of almost 100 years, I will only be student number four. Yes ladies and gentlemen, as soon as I fill out the form that I went to pick up from the registrar so that I can return it before David, Craig, and Kathleen change their minds and turn it in, I will be a Junior, with an official major and a musical in my future. My musical. In which I will perform and wow audiences campus-wide. Craig even said he was impressed by how prepared I was for the meeting and the next two years in general. What I didn't tell him is "Of course I'm prepared. I was afraid if I wasn't that you guys would say 'no!'" But yeah, they are impressed by my forethought, preparation, and general awareness of how fucking hard it is to do anything artistic at Reed. Also, I got David and Kathleen talking about other cool shit. I WIN! I'm off to go fill out forms, meet with Mark, and do a lot of dancing for joy. Anyone want to get together after 9pm and celebrate with me?? Just something small, but I'm going to need to celebrate in some way. Love and amazing academic joy,

IT'S SNOWING IN PORTLAND!!!!!!!!!!!! Real honest to goodness, stick to the ground snow. I should know, I was outside when it started, outside a second time when it got worse, and was outside yet again and walking home when it started to stick. Carl and I had great fun walking in it and we took a few pictures to prove that it is, in fact, snowing. I am SO excited, maybe it will snow enough that there will be no class tomorrow. That would rock! Ok, I'm off to at least pretend I am going to bed. Night!

I just found all the pictures I am going to put on my wall that I've been saving all summer and my bag full 'o memories. Wow, I really miss everyone all of a sudden. And the fact that the Beach Boys just came up on shuffle doesn't help. Good thing I'm going back tomorrow. Now if only they could move Georgia right next to Portland, I'd be all set. Ok, no more misty eyes for me, must finish packing. Wish me luck all, I might need it, but right now it's looking pretty good. Right then, bye!

Caught up with all email/facebook stuff: check.
Most of laundry folded (with more to be done tomorrow now that the kids are home): check
Gave sister her present: check

My day was pretty amazing. Woke up, spent the morning watching TV and folding laundry, went to work. Work kind of sucked, but wasn't too bad. Came home, dinner was really good, had just about the silliest talk with the girlfriend, ever. That was a lot of fun. Also, I cheered her up considerably, which would have made me happy in any case. My sister came home from camp pregnant with faternal twins. I'm talking about the girl who got married at camp 2 or 3 years ago to one of her friends. My little sister is a nut, I missed her. Mikella says it would be funnier if I came home from Georgia and told my mom I was pregnant with twins. I don't think my mom would had nearly the same reaction she did with Marika. I think it would be more along the lines of a glare...or worse. My mom's sense of humor only stretches so far. Also, I have a brother again. I missed him too.

Seeing as today (or rather technically yesterday) is/was August 12th, it is time for the official birthday countdown to start. Usually I sort of start a little earlier but this year has been weird. So yeah, 14 days to go until I get one year older. Oh god, that means school starts in 15 days...and I haven't planed a party or anything... I must get on that if I am to celebrate my birthday in style. Of course I really want a party the one year I have no idea where to have it. Oh well, I'll figure something out and invite you all. Must go to bed, night everyone!

I just called financial aid. They have not finished my revisions yet. It's August 1st, I don't have a definite place to live, I don't have any financial aid, and I'm freaking out. So tired. I've finally crashed for the last time today. I'm going to bed very shortly. It's cold (especially for summer) tonight, but I drove home very, very carefully with the windows open to make sure I stayed alert. Not that I was really dangerous, if I had been I wouldn't have driven home, but I was glad of it when some ass hole pulled behind me half way home and tailgated me with his brights on for over a mile. I can understand accidentally getting too close for a bit, and even forgetting your brights on for a minute or two, but what he did was not just rude, it was dangerous. I hate people who do that.

I passed the chem final. I don't know how I did overall, and I'm pretty sure I didn't get an A, but all that studying, begging the cosmos, and preparation paid off I think. I should know tomorrow. Good thing I'm so tired, or I'd be worried.

I have a lot more to say, and I was going to say it better, but honestly, I'm about to fall asleep at the keyboard. I'll post tomorrow..if I'm awake. Now I'm off to bed. Night all, sweet dreams!

I just finished baking banana bread. 3 loaves of it. Yum...bread. The house smells amazing. Too bad everyone else is asleep and can't enjoy it with me. But that means I got to bake unmolested, so that was good. I changed the recipe a bit, I added orange zest instead of lemon, but I think it worked really well. I am super excited to taste the bread tomorrow morning, the dough tasted really good. I think I'm going to try to send some to Peter and Andrew because Peter said he wanted some. I am making cookies tomorrow as soon as I can find the walnuts that my mother insists we have. Then I will have cookies and bread, woot! Hooray for breakfast food! Also, then I can send Mikella those cookies I promised her. Unless she wants banana bread, then I will send her that. But the cookies will have walnuts in them and the banana bread doesn't. Either way, it makes no difference to me.

My Dad came back tonight. He was really grumpy, but I missed him and I'm happy he's home, even if he does make life more difficult simply by existing. Ugh, it's 2:15, bed time. I swear I'll get back to actually posting at some point, but whatever. Sweet dreams everyone!

I have completed the first stage in my mission to put things in the mail! I have had to battle the dragon of creativity issues, the witch of time restraints, and a small, but vicious, imp aka my fussy computer, but I have prevailed and returned victorious!! I even saluted my mother as my liege lord when I got home and announced my victory. I love being such a nerd sometimes. :-) Now to return to cleaning my room. Honestly, how many clothes can one girl have??

Yesterday was short and boring. Lots of errands and dealing with difficult people. Ugh. It wasn't all bad though, I spent a bunch of time downtown trolling for a job. Got a stack of applications this high (places hands about 6 inches apart). Ok, maybe not that many, but it seems like it. Also, I may have found a job, even if it's only one night a week. I'll know tomorrow or the next day. Yay! A job! I will be gainfully employed! Woo hoo!

Today was great. I got up early and went to ballet where I totally kicked ass. I feel great too, though I know my body is laughing at me and going "You will be so sore tomorrow you won't be able to move." My mind's response "Well then, I'm going to enjoy this while I can." After class I found out my hair has finally adjusted to being cut and has decided to curl around my face again. I have ringlets! It's really cute! I love it when my hair curls. Then I got a lot of stuff done. I had a plan. And I stuck to it. It got interrupted a few times and it took longer than I thought it would, but I got lots done and I am very happy. So much important stuff taken care of. For starters I now have another bank account. And I am going to pay my bassoon teacher the money I owe him. And I found a way to take the chem class I need and thought I wasn't going to be able to get into. Also, at the other school, I get Fridays off, how cool is that?? It's a bit farther away, and I have to got for a little bit longer each day, but it really doesn't add that much time and I can sleep in on Fridays. Also, I got a shit-ton of email taken care of. And I ran a bunch of errands with/for my mom. Yay for happy productive days! Go me, I win at life! I even have a list written out for tomorrow. And I will get up at a reasonable hour and get it all done, just you wait and see. And I might have a job. That pays money. So I can get out of debt to my mom and start saving it for fun stuff. Like going out with my friends. And buying presents. And other cool stuff you can do with money. Woot!

I was going to finish answering all my email and other messages and post before I went to bed, but since I actually fell asleep on the other couch while Braden was using my computer and he had to wake me up just now to give it back, I am just going to go to bed and take care of it all in the morning.
